down day discoveries

Hi, Fasting Fam! Work is crazy busy right now, which has really helped move this down day along. I’ve been nibbling on chopped cucumber and celery to get me through the hunger pangs.

For lunch I tried a new to me frozen dinner that has 31 grams of protein, 460 calories, and it was VERY tasty, one of the best frozen meals I’ve ever had! I’ve got their protein pepperoni pizza on my shopping list to try.

While this was a tasty and filling lunch, I don’t think I will get this particular one again because I finished it in under 5 minutes. There just isn’t a lot of volume to trick your mind into thinking you are eating a lot, and I am a voracious eater! The large chicken salads keep me equally satiated and I get a huge bowl full, which psychologically makes me feel I’m not fasting, just enjoying a regular lunch.

When I was done eating this frozen meal I felt a bit forlorn that that was it, but sure enough, after 20 minutes or so I started feeling full. 31 g protein is terrific for a frozen meal!

These frozen meals aren’t cheap, however – this one was close to $4. Still cheaper than eating out of course, but you don’t get a lot of volume, so I felt a bit cheated. I do want to try the pepperoni pizza one, though. I believe that one has 22 g protein, and I’m always on the lookout for a decent grocery store frozen pizza. I don’t care for the Lean Cuisine ones.

I’m now enjoying a tumbler of Sunkist Zero soda on the rocks, a fizzy zero calorie beverage feels like a treat on a down day.

I still have quite a bit of cucumber and celery left to tie me over until my usual very filling egg scramble, I just love how tasty that dish is and how it puts lead in my tummy.

I’m stalking the Amazon driver who will be arriving sometime today with that soup mix I blogged about yesterday. I’ll let you know how it is!

Tonite’s workouts are Nia and Yin Yoga, and I’m daydreaming about breakfast tomorrow, which will probably be a bean burrito. I make my own beans in the Instant Pot and will have it on the timer so that it will be ready when I wake up.

What yummy low cal meals are you enjoying these days? Please share in the comments!

Hugs,
Lou
