up day and more on that Harmony House soup

Good morning, Fasting Fam! I weighed in at 219 this morning (started this journey at 224) With consistency I expect to be back in Onederland by the end of May.

Yesterday the Harmony House dehydrated vegetable soup mix arrived and I enjoyed some after my dance workout last night. I didn’t realize it came unseasoned so I added some salt to it and it was really good for what it is.

I went to the Harmony House website and caved on the variety pack of 18 soups and I picked up their 4 seasonings that are tailored to them. These plant based soups are marketed for hikers and to put in emergency kits, which makes sense because they have a decade or longer shelf life, they are extremely light weight, and bulk up again when you add hot water to them. Of course these aren’t as tasty as regular soup, but on a fast day it’s a savory caloric bargain!

I’m enjoying today’s up day, probably because it’s a Caturday and I have time to cook and enjoy my food. I reduced my cereal portion size from 2 cups of protein milk and 3 cups of cereal to 1 cup of protein milk and 2 cups of cereal, and will continue doing so in the future, as it kept me satiated for quite a while. This is a small change that can make a big difference over time and I’m proud of myself. My eyes are often bigger than my tummy and fasting really makes me more aware of hunger cues on the up days. Sometimes I think I’m hungry but really I am just desiring sensation or an escape from something I’m experiencing or feeling.
