Fasting Fam, I’ve decided to try a more sustainable weight los strategy that also improves insulin resistance.
Basically, I’ll quit eating at 7:00 pm on Sunday and fast until 7:00 pm on Monday, a 24 hour fast. At 7:00 pm I’ll have a smaller high protein and greens meal, and for the other days of the week I’ll follow a 16:8 protocol with an 11:00 am – 7:00 pm eating window. For those 6 days I will continue to have half & half in my coffee, however – that’s just not something I’m willing to give up. I will have black coffee on Mondays.
Before I eat I will have apple cider vinegar in my water, and after I eat I will try and walk or do some form of exercise for 10-20 minutes after eating to use up some glycogen from the last meal. During my meals I will start with protein first, then fiber, then carbs.
I need to go in for my pap smear, mammogram, and bloodwork so I’m going to schedule it for the end of August to give me some time to improve my health markers.
