Fasting Fam, Happy Sunday Night! I quit eating around 6:45 pm tonite and am sipping on a delicious cranberry spice herbal tea that reminds me of Christmas 🎄 and am listening to Soulection Radio on Apple Music while I wind down for the night and prepare mentally for the week ahead.
Tomorrow, Monday, I will do a modified 600 ish calorie down day, consisting of Early Bird zero calorie morning wakeup drink instead of coffee, home made chicken bone broth until lunch (so fun to sip on that from the thermos throughout the morning and I am someone who craves salt), tuna fish salad for meal 1(1 can chunk light tuna in water, 1 TB full fat mayo, diced pickles and onion over a large bed of iceberg lettuce mix), and a filling 2 egg 1/2 cup egg white and cheese slice scramble with fresh mushrooms and fresh basil.
I’m really looking forward to this and starting again. I was toying with doing 16:8 for the rest of the week but who am I kidding, I’m better at doing every other day or 4:3 as social events and physical activity dictate than restricting in some way every day. Dieting every day is overwhelming to me and will cause me to binge eat, but dieting every other day is doable, as there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
I plan on doing a gentle walk outside during lunch after having the tuna fish salad, and possibly another after the egg scramble dinner.
I have planned Tuesday’s up day because I have certain foods that need to be used up sooner than later before they go bad:
breakfast:
– yummy coffee with half and half and zero cal coconut sweetener on the rocks
– green smoothie: spinach, fresh pineapple, Chobani 60 calorie strawberry Greek yogurt, Fairlife protein milk, and ginger
lunch:
– tofu salad rolls with peanut sauce
– home made pineapple ginger kombucha
teatime:
– fresh watermelon (pickle the rines)
early dinner:
– bean burrito
post workout:
– cottage cheese and blueberries with zero cal blueberry syrup
Planning this out in advance really helps me stay on track better. I imagine that Wednesday will look a lot like Monday, as the bone broth, tuna fish salad, and egg scramble are tried and true down day winners; they help me feel full and the salt can help with leg cramps, which unfortunately I often get.
Are any of you doing a modified fast day this week and if so, what’s on your menu? Please answer in the comments, as I’m always looking for new ideas.
