Fasting Fam I was able to truly enjoy and savor all of my food today and I’m again pleased with my intake. One thing I made for the first time tonite for dinner that I’ll definitely be doing again is making meatball subs with hot dog buns! I just used Walmart’s frozen meatballs with a jar of cheap marinara and added garlic, fresh basil from my garden, cayenne, and Italian seasoning. I let it sit in the mini-crockpot for several hours and it turned out soooo good – just a cheap hot dog bun with 4 meatballs, sauce, and shredded Italian cheese. For breakfast I had overnight oats in zero sugar Greek yogurt with a banana and some walnuts that really hit the spot (it’s been hot here). For lunch I had my usual home made bean burrito and a lot of cherries, and as a snack I enjoyed 4 boxes of fresh mint tic-tacs and a lunch size bag of Quest Protein Chips 😀 No guilt! This is why I do ADF! I’m pretty sure I stayed within a decent range of my TDEE even with the snacks, because I also did an intense kickboxing workout, some yoga, and qi-gong.
I think for tomorrow’s down day breakfast I will enjoy a vanilla protein coffee. Since they have 30g protein they are filling, not to mention, tasty! I use a 32 oz mason jar with 6 spoons of dark instant coffee (on a weird kick with dark roast instant coffee for iced coffees at the moment after seeing a few videos on YouTube about it), a Premier Protein 30g ready made protein shake of whatever flavor you want (I use the Walmart Equate dupe that is much cheaper, also with 30g protein), and then use a milk frother to blend the two together until creamy and frothy. The Magic Bullet, Blendjet, or a whisk work great too but I like feeling so barista-ish with my cheap rechargeable milk frother from Amazon…
Lastly, just add lots of ice and let it sit for maybe 5 minutes and then stir again and let sit another 5 minutes until it’s very cold; the colder the better!
So far I’ve made protein coffees with the chocolate, vanilla, cafe latte, and pumpkin spice flavors and all of them were excellent ☕️ To sweeten them up a bit I also add sugar free Torani syrup. Sugar free Coconut is my all time favorite but I currently also use sugar free cinnamon, vanilla bean, caramel and pumpkin spice. In the past I have purchased the fall and Christmas seasonal syrups that come in 4 packs of smaller bottles all different flavors and some of those are incredible, too! I drink pumpkin spice all year round and ALWAYS miss Halloween!
171 calories for a filling down day breakfast and still being able to have a fancy coffee drink at the same time is such a win for me.

Lunch will be a chicken breast on plain lettuce with Taco Bell sauce, and dinner of course will be the usual egg scramble, the latest version of that is 2 eggs, 1/4 cup of egg whites, 2 oz diced ham, and an 80 calorie cheese slice. It’s soooo good and filling and I don’t usually go to bed too hungry if I have that for dinner.
How is everyone’s fasting journey going? What kind of fasting do you do?
